Embroidered Denim Jacket
In my spare time I love up-cycling clothing. Following the current embroidered denim trend I took it upon myself to embroider an oversized denim jacket. After forty hours of hand embroidery I am in love with the end result.
Take a look at these images to see the making process of the embroidered jacket...

I decided to go with the full skull deer head design, and laid it out on top of my jacket to check the sizing and to get an idea of what the finished product will look like.
I photocopied and laminated the design so that I could stick the aquabond ontop of it and easily trace my lines.
I traced all the design so that it is now on the aquabond. (Aquabond is a material that is great for embroidery or free machinery, it dissolves in water, leaving your threads behind!)
I peeled the aquabond layer away from the laminated sheet and stuck in onto my jacket, making sure the design was in the correct position
I began with the skull because I was travelling at the time, and it was easier to stick to the one colour. I always find that sewing really makes travelling go a lot quicker.
I then moved onto sewing the flowers, mirroring the colours on each side
