Jacket four: fluffy
pink with ribbon
This jacket really focused on the qualities of the materials I had already sourced. I created this jacket using 5 different items. I wanted to keep this one fairly simple but still have a playful element about it, that why I used the flowing ribbons.

This upcycled fluffy jumper is the base for this jacket.
I unpicked the pocket and cut the jumper into the shape that I wanted. I then cut it straight down the middle.
I hemmed the middle seam of the jacket by rolling the hem and sewing a straight line.
I used a pair of blue silky pyjama bottoms and cut up the seam of them. I cut 6 thick strips out of the silk fabric.
I placed the blue silky fabric onto the base jacket and measured how long I would need them to be.
I upcycled an old floral blouse and cut it up into strips the same size as the blue strips.
I placed the floral chiffon on top of the silky blue fabric and pinned them together so that they wouldn't move when sewing,
I sewed straight lines across the width of the fabric. I sewed them parallel to each other.
Once all the fabric strips were sewn, I started to cut away the top layer to reveal the blue fabric underneath.
