Jacket Six:
plastic bag knit
This jacket was created by only using plastic bag. I used three different coloured plastics and cut them into small strips ready to knit with. I wanted to prove that anything is possible, with the simplest of items!

I started by cutting up the plastic bags into small strips and knotting them together to create one long string.
I cast on loops of the lilac plastic bags and began knitting one of the sleeves
This is how the knit looks close up. The bows you can see are where the ends of the plastic were tied together, but I think it makes for a interesting effect.
I knitted a long rectangle, for half of the sleeve and kept referring back to the patten piece to check it for size. I repeated this process twice to create two of the same.
This is how the purple knit looked once completed. These pieces will be the upper parts of the sleeves.
I cut up white plastic bags, but these were a lot thinner than the other ones so I had to double over the plastic to make it more sturdy. I cut the bag into small strips.
I knotted the plastic strips together to make one long strip.
This is how the plastic looked once all of the small strips were knotted together.
I cast on 22 loops for the underside of the sleeve.
