Jacket Four:
pink rag rug trim
To create this jacket I used multiple different techniques. I used a simple upcycled floral pink cloth for the base of the jacket, and accessorised it with many techniques.
For the sleeves I wanted to add some more colour so decided to make strips of knotted wool/yarn that created a fluffy effect. I also hand stitched old washers to the sleeves and hung them so they acted as sequins.
For the bottom half of the body I used the same non-slip fabric that I used for the second jacket created. I used seven upcycled white t-shirts and knotted them onto the non-slip fabric in a vertical fashion. This jacket is full of life and shows you that any old objects can become fashionable!

I started by drawing around my pattern pieces, using this upcycled pink floral fabric. (Front pieces)
I drew around the back pattern piece and cut it out leaving a seam allowance.
I drew around the patten piece for the sleeve and cut them out leaving a seam allowance.
I pinned the front and back pieces together at the shoulder, and sewed across the marked line.
I repeated this process for the other shoulder. The body pieces were cropped by 15 cm, because I will attach a trim to the bottom of these pieces later on.
I attached the sleeve to the body and then pinned and sewed the sleeve seam and body seam together, so that the whole jacket was in one piece.
I cut up unwanted white t-shirts into small strips ready to knot with. I used 7 different white t-shirts all together.
I measured the non slip fabric against the existing body of the jacket to make sure I had the right length, and then measured 15 cm wide. I began to use the white t-shirt strips and tied them to the non-slip fabric.
I knotted 5 rows of fabric onto the non-slip fabric in a vertical fashion, then left the non-slip fabric blank for 6 rows, I continued following this pattern until all of the fabric was complete.
