Start with your desired size of photo frame. I would suggest a wooden frame so you can nail into it.
Mark on your frame where you want your nails to be. I marked every centimetre, and did this on opposite ends of the frame.
Carefully hammer your nails into the marks you made. Thin nails will work best.
Do not hammer your nails in fully as they are there to hold the yarn.
Start at one of the edge nails and tie a knot around the nail using whatever type of yarn you like. I used a standard white wool.
Continue wrapping the yarn/wool around the nails, going up and down across the frame.
Your finished loom should look like this. When you get to the last nail, tie a knot around the nail just like you did with the first nail when starting off.
Begin weaving whatever you like. You could use yarn, thread, wool, ribbon, plastic bags, cut up clothes... Let your imagination run wild!
To make the wall haging complete, I slid in a piece of thin wood at the top of my hanging which will hold the weave when detached from the frame. All you need to do now is tuck in all the loose threads at the back!
