I used non-slip fabric as the base for this jacket.
I placed my pattern pieces on top of the non-slip fabric to check for size.
I drew around the different pattern pieces, making sure I had two front pieces, one back piece and two sleeves.
I cut out the pattern pieces, leaving a seam allowance.
I used over forty t-shirts to create this jacket. I cut the t-shirts into thin strips, ready for tying.
I began by tying the strips of fabric to the grid on the non-slip fabric. I tied 15 rows of t-shirt fabric.
After tying the fabric, I wanted to give a different texture, so decided to weave the fabric in and out of the non-slip fabric for 15 rows.
I continued to tie knots and weave the rest of the sleeve untill it was complete. I tied knots at the top so that when the sleeve was attached to the rest of the body, the jacket would flow well and you wouldn't be able to see the seam at the shoulder.
I completed the front panel by tying knots all over using multiple coloured t-shirts.
